Paole Calderon is a Peruvian set and production designer working across theatre, film, and animation. She holds an MFA in Scenic Design from Penn State and a BA in Audiovisual Communication and Interactive Media.

Her passion for design began in her father's architecture studio in a small town in Huancayo, Peru, where she grew up surrounded by blueprints, scale models, and conversations about architecture and design. Those early experiences shaped her understanding of how space can tell stories and evoke emotion, and how design can shape how people experience the world.

Today, her multi

disciplinary practice combines scenic and production design with handmade crafts, papercraft, and stop-motion techniques for immersive visual worlds across stage and screen.

Her credits include Crazy for You, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, John Proctor Is the Villain, and the opera Non Più Nascoste (Hidden No More), as well as film productions at Steiner Studios in New York City. She is also the creator and director of the animated series Juno, Bikes Diary, which has been selected for the festivals and markets Pixelatl, Ventana Sur, and Quirino Awards.

Her work has been recognized with the Helen and Lowell Mandell Graduate Award for research in performance and memory, and the Creative Achievement Award from the College of Arts and Architecture for excellence in scenic design and large-scale theatrical productions.
